Dazzledust25 from Makeupandbeauty.ie asked me on twitter, what was the best way to photograph make up. So i did a video tutorial on photographing make up. Because i come from motion media rather than static i use the concept of constant indirect light rather than using a flash, below are the results of photographing simple make up with a flash and without a flash using the ISO and F stop on the camera to control the amount of light on the final image.

Not heavily into make up my self but there were some nice tips in there, It's cool you're broadening your videos with some specific requests.. how nice of you :p
ReplyDeleteThis video just made me really miss my equipment though, yours was taunting me.
You're a friggin legend Mr Joly!! Thank you so much :)
ReplyDeleteI love to take some photograph because i usually travel too much, one day i saw a site called
ReplyDeletecosta rica homes for sale
and it seemed very wonderful, and i am very exited, now i want to visit this beautiful country and take a lot of photos.
Love this post! Thank you so much for your tips. Ive got a good camera (Canon EOS500D) but I really suck at using it! I've tried playing aroudn with the settings to shoot makeup stills but I get them all wrong.
ReplyDeleteLets assume Im photographing outside, what would you say is the best F and ISO for me to use to get sharp pics? The probelm is my images look very fuzzy aroudn the edges
Thanks for your help :)
